Cylindrical roller bearings

Rothe Erde offers different models and sizes of cylindrical roller bearings. Our range includes single-row, double-row and multi-row cylindrical roller bearings. The bearings are made of cylindrical rollers which are guided between equally cylindrical contact surfaces. On the outer, and less frequently on the inner ring, there are shelves which guide the roller set with the cage. Cylindrical roller bearings ensure very precise shaft guidance thanks to their rigid bearing formation.

Our products

Single-row cylindrical roller bearings

Technical drawing of a cylindrical roller bearing in silver and gold

Single-row cylindrical roller bearings are perfect for transmitting heavy radial loads at high speeds. The cylindrical roller bearings being separable makes installation and disassembly significantly easier.

The following editions of cylindrical roller bearings are available:

  • Axial fixed bearings (NUP, NH) - can only transmit certain axial loads in both directions

  • Axial loose bearings (NU) - enable reciprocal ring shifting in both directions

  • NJ, NUJ edition can transmit certain axial loads in one direction

Typical applications: Cranes and lifting devices, Wind energy, Smelting works engineering, Gear manufacturing

Double-row cylindrical roller bearings

High levels of rigidity are characteristic of our double-row cylindrical roller bearings. They are mainly used for machine tools’ spindle arrangements and similar equipment. They are available both with cylindrical and tapered holes. For cylindrical roller bearings with tapered holes, radial air or preload can be set during assembly. Cylindrical roller bearings are usually manufactured in high precision levels and with reduced radial clearance.

Typical applications: Cranes and lifting devices, Wind energy, Smelting works engineering, Gear manufacturing, Raw material extraction and processing

Multi-row cylindrical roller bearings

Technical drawing of a multi-row cylindrical roller bearing in silver

Multi-row cylindrical roller bearings are particularly well suited to absorbing large radial forces. They are installed in places where installation dimensions are limited, for example, as bearings for rolling mills, calendars and in the smelting and rubber industries. Compared to other multi-row roller bearings, the multi-row cylindrical roller bearings have less friction.

Since these types of bearings can only absorb radial loads, they installed in combination with deep-groove ball bearings, angular ball bearings or axial tapered roller bearings, which absorb the axial loads. Multi-row cylindrical roller bearings are never latching which means all bearing parts can be installed or disassembled separately from the free bearing rings. This makes assembling, maintaining and inspecting the bearing significantly easier.

They are available with cylindrical and, sometimes, with tapered holes. For bearings with a tapered hole, the radial air or preload can be set during installation by pushing the tapered shaft appropriately far.

Current manufactured size: Ø d = 200 to 850 mm; max. Ø D = 1220 mm

Typical applications: Wind energy, Smelting works engineering, Gear manufacturing

High precision 3-row cylindrical roller RT bearings

Technical drawing of a cylindrical roller RT bearing

High precision 3-row cylindrical roller RT bearings allow accommodation both radial loads and axial loads as well as tilting moments. Due to excellent machining and preload both in radial and axial directions they fulfil requirements for high running accuracy.

The RT bearings are delivered as assembled ready-to-mount units. The screw mounting holes in the rings make installation of the bearing into a machinery easy and trouble-free.

For securing the bearing and its components while handled and transported two retaining screws serve.

They are especially suitable for highly demanding installation in machine tool applications.

Current manufactured size: ø d = 180 to 1200 mm; ø D = 280 to 1500 mm.

Typical applications: General engineering
