BME Innovation Award

In 2008, thyssenkrupp rothe erde developed and introduced a digital solution together with a software partner for the procurement, implementation and billing of all kinds of services.

For this new type of integrated electronic service procurement, thyssenkrupp rothe erde received the famous innovation award from the Association Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics BME in 2009. The award ceremony took place on November 11th, 2009 as part of the 44th BME Symposium Purchasing and Logistics in Berlin.

The assessment of the jury chairman and BME board chairman Dr. Jürgen Marquard:

„thyssenkrupp rothe erde has realized its vision of automating the procurement of complex services as far as possible from the definition of requirements to billing using a new type of electronic system solution. This system platform serves as a role model and is also suitable for cross-sector use. With the award, the BME honored the concept "Integrated electronic service processing" for an online system platform for comprehensive order processing of complex services. The e-solution made it possible to carry out the entire ordering process from the definition of requirements to billing and was fully integrated into the company's internal merchandise management system. The system-managed data exchange with suppliers was subject to strict audit-compliant process rules."
