Spectacular drone footage shot at our plants in Germany

How are our rothe erde^® rings and slewing bearings actually made? We answer this question in a completely new way: with breathtaking speed and spectacular aerial footage.

For this video, our production processes were captured from a perspective that is rarely seen. Various drone models were used, maneuvered with exceptional precision through our facilities. The drones were not controlled via a traditional monitor alone, but with the help of VR goggles. This allowed the pilots to guide the drones with millimeter accuracy through the production halls, right through ongoing processes, close to machines, close to the product.

A fun fact along the way: the drones’ battery life was just four minutes. After each flight, this meant landing immediately, changing the battery, and taking off again. Precise planning and perfect timing were essential.

The boldest and most impressive flight took place at our Dortmund plant. There, the drone raced through a freshly rolled ring with a temperature of over 1,000 °C. A shot that not only requires technical expertise, but also absolute trust in materials, people, and processes – and one that is guaranteed to stay in your memory.

The result is a video that shows what Rothe Erde stands for: innovative manufacturing, maximum precision, and the courage to explore new paths.
