Student trainee Sales & Distribution
My job: Sales & Distribution – the combination of different areas of interest
In accordance with the ideas of many schoolchildren and students, choosing a career was also an important decision for me in my life. The uncertainty regarding interesting fields of activity, coupled with the indecisiveness between a degree in economics or engineering, has long been a headache for me. After completing my bachelor's degree in sales engineering and my practical experience as a student trainee at thyssenkrupp rothe erde, I can now conclude that I have made the right decision. Sales & Distribution makes it possible to combine my passion for economic interrelationships with a strong interest in technical products. In addition, I enjoy exchanging ideas with customers and employees on a global level in a varied field of work.
The balancing act between the lecture halls of the university and the office in the company requires a high degree of organizational ability and discipline. It is only through effective time management that it is possible to optimally divide up one's strengths and combine both. Of course, one must also resist the many temptations of student life. As far as sales & distribution are concerned, another major challenge is to adapt the sales structures that have developed and been firmly anchored over the years to the dynamic framework conditions of the market. Implementing changes while taking into account innovative developments is often tedious and takes a lot of effort.
My typical working day
As a student trainee in sales & distribution, I benefit from not being permanently assigned to any field of responsibility. For example, my routine tasks, such as creating quotations or handling order processes, are regularly supplemented with additional tasks. This includes, for example, the analysis of sales data or supporting activities for projects and employees. This broad spectrum of tasks is very valuable for me as a student, because I can acquire knowledge in different areas of sales & distribution, which are of great value for my career.
Our slogan is "engineering. tomorrow. together." Together means for me …
… to work in close cooperation with functionaries from all departments and hierarchy levels to achieve the company's goals. Only by working together and exchanging information can tasks be effectively mastered. I experience my personal "together moments" at thyssenkrupp rothe erde especially through the trust placed in me and the responsible tasks assigned to me. This working atmosphere allows me to bring in my own ideas and at the same time enrich myself with the many years of experience of the employees.
Realizing your potential, having fun, being happy
Working is part and parcel of life. It is therefore very important to me personally to prepare my career entry intensively and to make well thought-out decisions in this respect. My employment as a student trainee at thyssenkrupp rothe erde gives me a detailed insight into my future field of activity and at the same time offers numerous opportunities for development. In addition, it complements the theoretical content taught at the university by means of the practical relevance, so that I can now look forward to a positive future.
